Human body is a miracle. And heart is the most important organ of the human body. Heart is a muscular organ. Heart is basically a pump which beats 72 times per minute. Heart pumps blood and important material throughout the body, and removes waste material from the body. Brain needs oxygen and glucose, muscle needs amino acid, oxygen, glucose which are provided by heart. If the heart ever ceases to pump blood the body begins to shut down and after a very short period of time will die. Heart is usually little larger than the fist. Our heart is beating continuously since it developed in our mother's womb. Heart rests about four-tenth of a second after each beat or"cardiac cycle". Our entire body is functional only because of our heart.
